Like many of you wonderful people out there, last week was definitely a kick to the junk. Not gonna lie, I went through all the emotions, took naps, wrote, organized, and I’m moving forward- one breath -one step -one word at a time if I have to.
This week, I’m vending at a couple of different places - one of which is The Texas Book Festival. On Sunday, I’ll be hanging out at the Writer’s League of Texas booth volunteering and signing/selling books around 3p. Come say hi!
Also signed up for Queer Books for Good! A bunch of us that write queer stories got together. We’re putting our books out there for all you readers that want to grab some queer joy.
For this event on Friday - all three of The Saint George Chronicles will be on sale for you to pick up. First time all three books will be on sale at once, so it’s a great opportunity to grab them. This will be across all platforms! Look for all the info on Friday the 15th!
I also signed on with a group of Texas authors that write Spicy books who are gearing up to fight book bans more directly. We’re just getting started. Two great authors Gigi Kiersten and Shannon Elliot are organizing everyone by regions to help fight locally. It’s a fight I’m about having. I’m putting my mouth, my money, and my time into this. So if you see anything about Spicy Texans, feel free to support us!
I’ve got a few things coming up in December but my main goal is to finish Dr. Mason Book so I can get it into editing. The cover is cooking! The draft is coming along nicely. Currently it’s at 35 chapters, 76k+ words, and 11 spicy spice scenes (several sapphic scenes this time which I’m super proud of, and two scenes (for now) with a sentient plant named Sydney ). This is the draft of course. We’ll see what makes the final edit. This book feels like it’s got another 10k worth of words it needs to finish this wild ass story. It wouldn’t be my longest book, but it has a lot jammed in here. It might result in a 1.5 book being released first as a hold over until the main book gets out there. We’ll see!
My next WIP is a Bi-Polyam fest too - so 2025 is going to be mostly about the Polyam bisexuals! I figure if I’ve got theme going, I should go hard on it!
As always, keep mleaden.com/links bookmarked for all info on upcoming events and sales.
Also working on swag for 2025 - new stickers, and lots of fun ideas percolating!
Here’s a few you might see in the future:
