Urban Fantasy Playground - December Newsletter (NSFW Art Included)
Hello readers!
Lots of exciting things this month!
Inksgiving!
Because readers were so awesome and gave +50k ink to yours truly the following rewards were met for Tapas readers.
A) Commissioned art piece from any story. (Artist contacted about a commission for Prince's Tide!)
B) Posting Prince's Tide & The Saint George Chronicles twice a week - already started, and folks seem to be enjoying the extra content. (Super glad I wrote ahead!)
C) Posting all the unposted chapters for Close To Home - will be working on this over Christmas break and let folks know which weekend I'll be posting them to Tapas! But it should be before the year ends for sure!
Holiday Short Story!
Xavior and Gregor spend the Christmas holiday in Spain with Xavior’s family. Greg, not familiar with the particulars of how folks in Spain celebrate Christmas, discovers some family traditions he’s not so sure about.
You can download the short story in PDF or EPUB format here! After the 25th, you can find it on my ko-fi page!
I'm hoping I can post a short story, or some kind of flash fiction each month. Last month was "The New Pet." You can find that story on my ko-fi page. It has the PDF & EPUB formats along with and MP3 file of the story if you'd like to donate $2 or more.
Ever Evolving
There are so many options available for people to publish all kinds of things and I'm always trying things out to see what will work and grab people's interest. So far, trying to have people sign up to a newsletter has been a bit, daunting. I've had a lot more engagement from various social media platforms and publishing platforms than I've had for this newsletter. However, since I do plan on editing and publishing things from my web serial books, lots of people recommended I have a newsletter available for folks to sign up.
I've thought about Patreon, but I'm not comfortable with that platform. It seems too big, and too complicated. Ko-fi seems to be working for now, so I'll stick with it until it makes sense to do something different.
General plan for 2022:
Finish writing & posting Prince's Tide & SGC V2 to Tapas and Neovel.
Finish editing SGC V1
Publish The first volume of The Saint George Chronicles in epub/paperback (there are a couple of routes to this, so we'll see what pans out come January).
Write some short stories in the Mythical Desires Universe featuring various characters
Finish writing the third draft of Dream Children
Dream Children was my original fae book that I started pre-covid times. It's a three book arch that I nearly finished all three books of when I realized I needed to drastically edit book one. I'd like to go back to that universe and visit those characters. It's much darker and more politically motivated than anything in the Mythic Desires universe. If I can finish the book to my satisfaction, I'll probably try to see if I can publish it via a traditional route or at least through an indie pub. It's definitely not designed to be a web serial, so it won't show up on those platforms.
Anywho - we'll see how far things get and what happens. Life likes to throw all the curve balls as of late, and you know what they say about best laid plans.
Until then, enjoy this very cool and not often shared NSFW image of Greg and Xavior hanging out in Xavior's den. I commissioned this art when I first started to work on the flash fiction featured on my blog. It's been a very helpful reference for me as I continued to write for these two guys and find that they have a lot of story left to tell. Like - three more books worth at least, so there's that tidbit for future reference.
Until next time, Enjoy life, and read lots! (Art by Martin Whitmore)
