Welcome to Sapphic September!
If you’ve read any of my books, you know that I celebrate and write about queerness in all kinds of ways. I love supporting queer authors, and what they are trying to write or accomplish with their writing.
These past few weeks, I’ve had a lot of fun working with an author writing a “Why Choose?” or more precisely a polyamory based story with a bisexual relationship between two of the three male characters. Not only does it involve polyamory, but it also ventures into kink spaces.
I’ve also enjoyed beta reading for another author working on a historical fairytale that has its roots in African histories and political structures.
I’ve also been working on a WIP featuring a polyamory knot of a group in the Mythical Desires Universe which I’ve had early feedback on that has been very positive thus far.
As some of you have figured out, all of my books have connections to each other. While you can read them separately or as individual series. They all feature characters or backgrounds that are interconnected.
Since it’s Sapphic September, I want to highlght Rare Temptations.
While the story is about a demi-goddess and a dragon discovering a casual relationship and learning about each other in body positive and sex-positive ways, you might not know that both of these characters were first introduced in The Dragon’s Lance: The Saint George Chronicles Volume Two.
The demi-goddess is Ms. Eilidh (Lee) who runs The Playground, a BDSM club, at Firebaugh Resort where Gregor and Xavior begin to explore their relationship and Xavior’s past.
Francesca (Freddie) is Xavior’s niece, working at the resort cafe to gain more experience as a full fledged adult dragon. (Dragons aren’t considered fully adult until after their first aging cycle which can happen anywhere from 50 to 90 yrs of age).
When Freddie tries to apply for a server opening at Lee’s club things go a little haywire when Freddie smells Lee’s unique heritage. At first, Lee chalks it up to a dragon’s senses being overwhelmed, but later she can’t ignore the beautiful dragon landing in her backyard, clearly in some awkward distress.
Later, Lee helps Freddie discover and understand a part of herself that she’s ignored in favor of reading and learning. What develops between the two is a casual relationship growing into more, and exploring what it means to care for someone while living in the present instead thinking about the “what if” or the future that may never happen.
Rare Temptations is eighty-five pages of body-positive and sex-positive discoveries with an evolving relationship that lands on a satisfying happy-for-now. Oh, and it’s a monster sapphic! I recently had artist KitFox recreate a scene in the book.
As us large ladies know, everything looks more flattering in a horizonal position! You can find this scene and more in Rare Temptations: A Dragon Shifter Sapphic Romance Novella
If you like the above art, you can check out KitFox’s Facebook and Patreon pages for more info and to contact her for commission work.
